After becoming a first-time author in 08 as the general editor of Secret Sex Wars: A Battle Cry for Purity, my friend, Tom Rios, and my publicist, Pam Perry, strongly encouraged me to start a blog. And what a year to start a blog! Who will ever forget 2008? With a historic election that gave America its first African American president (actually bi-racial, but that’s another blog), an economic crisis that sent shock waves through the world’s financial markets, a spectacular Olympics, and a tidal wave of Internet smut that is corrupting our nation from the inside out, with so much to sift through biblically, I wanted to blog all the time, but I simply didn’t get it done. But 2009 is another year—a time for new commitments.
So here goes my blog commitment for this year. If Christ tarries and God grants me another year, I will try to blog more this year. My plan is to post an overview of my Sunday sermon from a verse by verse exposition of the book of Revelation titled "The End is Coming . . .” by Tuesday evening. Then on Friday I'll blog on a current topic that has been on my mind, in the news, from a book that I am reading, or on a hot urban church issue. Also I have been invited to write a monthly guest blog on Covenant Eyes, so you can look for that too. That's the blog-plan for this year, two blogs a week, Lord willing, and my stamina maintaining.
